We’re both very pleased and a little surprised to have won the best review competition. To be honest we didn't enter it to win £50
The money will be going to the Elenor Foundation who run a local hospice caring mainly
for terminally ill cancer patients. Julie a few years ago was not expected to pull
through and they were very good to us.
We actually brought into CLC after Julie overcame
the worst of her illness because you can't take all that cash with you. Our moto
is enjoy it while you can. Perhaps we have been lucky we have always had good service
from CLC and are now diamond members. We managed this via a private purchase from
a member on this site and we joined our existing Gold and the Platinium together
for £2500 plus a few extra points to make Diamond for very little trouble. CLC were
very helpful.
Julie is a cradle snatcher being 2 years older than me and we celebrated her 50 th
birthday at Monteray Royale last year. She personally has had a rough time in the
last 5years having been struck down with the big 'C' 3 times, but she has battled
through and is very positive. She used to work for the NHS before before this but
now stays at home taking it easy and walking our German shepherd, Lauren who is a
rescue dog from Battersea.
I myself am a Sergeant in the Metropolitan Police and I have served at various places over the years . I spent over 10 years in the Traffic Department on a specialist squad and rode a motorcycle for them for many years. I currently work on a Safer Neighbour Hood Team in East London.
We try and holiday as often as possible either to CLC destinations or others. We tend to take the dog on at least one jaunt and perhaps use a motorcycle on some others(not with the dog). We don’t intend to go abroad this year with CLC but we are off to Duchally in July. Time allowing we may visit Cornwall on a short break. We are however off to the Pyreenees on the bike in June and the New Forest with the dog.
I have enclosed a photo of our pooch taken in the Lake District.
